Hello and Welcome

 

The Welcome Trust is a multi service facility providing for people with severe and moderate learning disabilities. It is supported primarily by parents of users who recognise the need for a project of its kind for people who are intelectually, sensory and/or physically challenged. The Welcome Trust has one full time coordinator and a highly dedicated and well-trained team of 35 volunteers managed by the project co-ordinator.

 

Aims

To establish an association which would provide recreational, leisure and educational facilities for people with learning disabilities in the Greater West Belfast area, to improve the quality of life of clients, their families and the community at large, to promote disability awareness and inclusion city wide.

Objectives

To promote and support in co-operation with other relevant bodies projects, which will assist people with
learning disabilities. To develop public awareness of the needs and abilities of disabled people citywide. To maintain and develop links with professional bodies for the future planning of the organisation, so that the needs of the disabled people are taken into account in the provision of public amenities. To assist and cooperate with other voluntary organisations and statutory authorities to regenerate our community.
